A Bit About Me
Welcome! I’m Ren, a Chicago based UX/UI Designer with a background in Quality Assurance and Implementation. I originally started my education as a graphic designer but took a detour to attend a tech bootcamp which opened my eyes to design in the tech space. Although I loved Graphic Design, conducting user research and solving user issues through Web Design appealed to me. Both spaces are highly collaborative and allowed me the space to grow through iterative processes that ultimately benefit others.
My previous roles strengthened my research, testing, and collaboration skills while providing a unique perspective on user experience. Although these positions were not design-focused, they showed me firsthand how thoughtful design, or lack thereof, impacts a user's ability to navigate spaces, systems, and technology. These experiences taught me that even small obstacles can affect the overall user journey, shaping my design philosophy around proactively identifying challenges and creating intuitive, accessible solutions.
